I would like to simply say this, and it is not hyperbole, Amalie has made Kir a true gem. I will come again not only for Russel’s excellent service and recommendations, not just for the evident passion of everyone who works there, not even for the sinfully wicked delicious pairings of cheeses and carnivorous delights, not for the way I was made welcome from the first second… But I will come back because Amalie is the heart and soul of what or means to care viscerally about only that which is true and good about the real things in this life. Her need to impart, in no small way, the wonder of the fruits of this world is what makes Kir great. In every way this is an experience not to be missed. The chef. The music. The aromas. The palpable sense of robust caring in and about every thing. This is Kir. This is Amalie.

During our recent trip to Portland, my first, my friend and I had the good luck to find your wonderful little wine bar. Thank you for the excellent food, the wonderful wine, and the friendliness. I wish we had something like this here in Sacramento.
